A TRADITION SINCE 1972

Art, neighbors, and community giving

The CCA created Arts in the Park in 1972. What began as a neighborhood initiative has grown into a nationally recognized outdoor arts festival featuring hundreds of artists at the Carillon in Byrd Park.

Festival proceeds support neighborhood projects, beautification, parks, schools, libraries, and community organizations across Richmond. The show simply could not run without neighbors who give their time before, during, and after festival weekend—helping with setup, welcoming artists and visitors, answering questions, and cleaning up when the weekend is over.

WAYS TO HELP

It takes a neighborhood.

Volunteer at the festival

Even a few hours helps. Neighbors handle setup, artist support, information, hospitality, and cleanup. Share your interest now, and the CCA will send shift details when festival sign-ups open.

Visit and support artists

Meet the makers, learn about their work, and buy original art directly from the artists. Every purchase helps independent artists keep creating.

Share the tradition

Invite friends, welcome visitors, and help keep the festival a warm Richmond weekend.
